I was so soooo sooooo excited, I was going to North Korea. It was something I wanted to do since the moment I started planning this trip. We were also going to a few other places, this was going to be an all day DMZ tour. The tour started at about 11:30 am, not to early. So had time for 6 am breakfast and a nap before we headed out. We were going on a tour bus and there were a lot of other people going from the hotel, so other english speakers to interact with. Our tour guide name was Mark, im pretty sure that was a fake name. He was a Korean who's English was okay, the best I have encountered since being here. I have noticed that this place is not very English friendly. Even people who work on post and have to speak English as a job requirement only do a fair job at best. It makes things really difficult and frustrating at times, but im not at home so oh well. Okay back to the main point. Mark was a very good guide but it was very hard for me to understand with his accent. I had to have Rich translate his English for me a lot. We left late waiting on people who didnt show up, oh well...lets roll. An hr bus ride and we grab lunch first.
We stop at a place called IMJINGAK. It only had two options for eating, Popeye's or a traditional Korean place (Mark's words not mine.
